Let’s talk about wedding stationery! Photographing the wedding details, as you probably have seen through my posts, is very important to set the tone of the wedding day as well as remembering how all of those details tie the whole day together. This is the place where my bride and groom’s personality really shows (especially with menu cards and programs). TRUE STORY – years ago when I was wedding planning, I was the first of my friends to get married and I had never needed to know anything about stationery, nor did I have a CLUE. I thought I was ordering our save the date magnet in this pretty pink-ish/coral color as the background…and it came to me as this BROWN color. Yes, seriously. So, right from the beginning, I failed to tie in all the pieces and set the tone for the day. I wish I had known about Basic Invite during my planning process because it would have turned out as a dream instead of a blob. Nowadays (gosh, I realize I sound old BUT technology and software changes so quickly!), there is so much you can do online with wedding planning. With Basic Invite, you can easily and quickly design all your stationery products for your wedding day (even save the dates, bridal shower invites, guest books, wedding table guest cards, thank you cards, and more).

Basic Invite truly is one of the few websites that allows you to customize almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail.

Here is the best part. You can order a printed sample of your actual invitation so you can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before you place your final order (ding ding ding – read above when I got our brown save the date!). Being able to touch the paper and feel the design (they now offer rose gold foil that is so dreamy) is really critical now in selecting your final product, so I’m so happy they offer this service. It’s so inexpensive to order the sample too.

So good luck planning and remember that this stage is so easy with Basic Invite. I wish I had this option when I was planning. Pstttt… all of their envelopes are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed. Trust me, this is worth any amount of money to me to have this option because you will most likely be sending out a lot of invitations.

And remember, I’ll be photographing all of these pretty little details. I believe the full package makes a difference in how the wedding day story is told in photos (especially if you purchase a legacy wedding album).

Happy designing! And while you’re checking out, be sure to use code 15FF51 for 15% off your purchase.

Lastly – do you think stationery goes away after the wedding? Helllllo baby shower invitations, baby announcements, Christmas cards, and more … more on those on my personal blog at www.gcrewblog.com
